Miami Seaquarium

Located in Biscayne Bay, this world-class 38-acre aquarium features eight marine animal shows and presentations. The seaquarium is home to dolphins, seals, manatee, sharks, turtles, crocodiles, stingray, tropical fish, and much more. Home to Lolita, the Killer Whale, it is also the former film site of the television show Flipper.  Visitors can get up-close to these friendly mammals through dolphin interaction programs at Dolphin Harbor or walk underwater among tropical fish during a Sea Trek Reef Encounter.

 

Jungle Island

This top family attraction is located in the heart of the city, between Downtown Miami and South Beach. Jungle Island boasts over a mile of beautifully landscaped trails and animal exhibits. Parrot Jungle is home to the world's most rare and unbelievable animals, including Mama Cass, the only tame Cassowary on the planet. Guests can participate in hands-on interactions with fascinating animals, watch incredible animal shows and be amazed by the park's breathtaking landscapes and views.

 

Zoo Miami

This 340-acre zoo is home to more than 3,000 animals, including white Bengal tigers, giraffes, flamingos, hippos, koalas and more in large open-air exhibits. Rent a Safari Cycle, ride the monorail or take a guided tram tour to see the zoo. Picnic and party facilities are available for birthday parties, picnics, weddings and more.

 

Monkey Jungle

Located in South Dade, Monkey Jungle was an innovator of many of the concepts currently seen in the design of zoological parks. It is home to nearly 400 primates, most running free on a 30 acre reserve.  It is one of the few protected habitats for these animals in the United States and it’s the only one where the public can explore.

Patricia and Philip Frost Museum of Science

For nearly 65 years, the Museum's award-winning educational programs, hands on exhibits, extraordinary planetarium, and Wildlife Center and Clinic have enriched locals and tourists alike. This state-of-the-art facility invites visitors to explore the realms of earth, sea and sky.

 

Miami Children’s Museum

Miami Children’s Museum is an original, brightly painted complex spread over 56,000 square-feet with 14 galleries. Exhibits include a pretend grocery store, a veterinarian’s office, a bank, an ocean odyssey, a rock-climbing wall, and other hands-on activities.

 

Gold Coast Railroad Museum

A fantastic experience for any train enthusiast, The Gold Coast Railroad Museum showcases more than 30 historic trains and train cars, as well as interactive displays and exhibits. The Gold Coast Railroad Museum offers free admission the first Saturday of the month.

 

Miami Art Museum

Located in the Miami-Dade Cultural Plaza, the Miami Art Museum’s main mission is to represent the city and its people through art. Experience an array of colors, lights, sounds and structures on the museum's two floors of exhibit space.

 

Vizcaya Museum and Gardens

Vizcaya is a National Historic Landmark museum owned by Miami-Dade County. Visitors to this fascinating museum will enjoy exhibits of European architecture and furnishings along with its beautiful, extensive gardens.

 

Historical Museum of Southern Florida

The Historical Museum of Southern Florida’s mission is to tell the story of South Florida and the Caribbean by linking the past to the present through various galleries. These galleries have several changing exhibits each year.  There is also a research center that houses archives that are available to visitors.

American Airlines Arena

Catch a game of hoops, from December through June, at the American Airlines Arena. This sports and entertainment arena, located in Downtown Miami, is where you can watch the NBA's Miami Heat tear up the court.

 

Sunlife Stadium

Grab a foot-long hot dog, a frosty beverage and settle in for an exciting football game! Sunlife Stadium is the home turf of NFL's Miami Dolphins from August through December.

 

Marlins Park

Marlins Park is MLB's Miami Marlin's home field. Buy yourself some peanuts and Cracker Jacks before you settle in for a little baseball action.

 

BB&T Center

Located in Sunrise, Florida, the BB&T Center is home to the NHL’s Florida Panthers.  Watch the excitement as this talented team hits the ice, led by all-star goaltender Roberto Luongo.  These are games you won’t want to miss.

Gusman Center for the Performing Arts

Built in 1926 as a silent movie palace, The Gusman Center for the Performing Arts is home to live dance and theater performances, films, community events, corporate meetings and social affairs, as well as the Miami International Film Festival.

 

Miami Symphony Orchestra

The Miami Symphony Orchestra is Miami's hometown professional symphony and a valued contributor to Miami's culture. With national and world premieres becoming more common, Miami Symphony Orchestra is a source of growing local pride and support. The not-for-profit Symphony has lead educational programs for elementary school students in the Miami-Dade Public School System and provides low or no-cost tickets to students, senior citizens, first responders, active military, and veterans of South Florida.

 

Miami City Ballet

The Miami City Ballet is among the largest ballet companies in the United States.  The company performs in South Florida at various performance venues such as, Broward Center for the Performing Arts, The Kravis Center and, Collier.

 

New World Symphony

New World Symphony has become a leading cultural institution in South Florida and has become well known around the world. Each year they have more than 60 performances and 15 percent of those are free to the public. NWS is fortunate to bring many of the leading classical soloists, composers, and conductors of this era to the Miami area.  One of the more popular events is the WALLCAST™ concerts that are performed.  The WALLCAST™ concerts allow for a unique experience by using spectacular visual and audio technology that is projected on a massive 7,000 square foot wall.  They are fantastic events that are free to the public and do not require a ticket.  Bring your blanket, relax and enjoy the show.

Mai-Kai Dinner Show

Check out the Mai-Kai Dinner Show.  Every year, visitors will experience Polynesian heritage in the dances, costumes and music of the Polynesian Islander Revue.  You may even be invited to join the dancers on stage to learn some dance moves. Performances are nightly and you can enjoy a delicious dinner of various Oriental dishes, as well.
